I studied teaching and pedagogy. My training and experience of 14 years as a teacher have given me many resources to make the teaching-learning process easier. Although teaching adults to dance is different from teaching children, there are many pedagogical elements that coincide.
In the world of Swing I have trained with local and international teachers. With them I have seen multiple examples of both what really works in class, and what doesn't. All of us have been in a situation where someone very experienced does not know how to transmit what is so easy for him or her.
In my classes I always try to make the progression of ideas in a didactic way and with multiple resources, adapting to both beginner and advanced students.
Jazz and Lindy Hop are African-American artistic expressions that cannot be separated from the culture of racism and oppression from which they arose. I work keeping in mind the origins of music and dance that we enjoy so much.
I am deeply committed to appreciating the African American roots of Lindy Hop and Swing.
I am always interested in knowing the opinion of my students about my classes. Knowing their points of view has helped me a lot to optimise my way of teaching.
I started doing rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 3, and at 10 I went on to artistic gymnastics. Later I entered the world of Circus that alternated with training in Modern Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Contemporary Dance, always as an amateur.
In 2011 I discovered the Lindy Hop and fell in love. In 2017 I made the leap from the amateur world to the professional world.
I quit my job as an elementary school teacher to devote all my energy to specialising in Lindy Hop, training for competitions, preparing new content for classes... Since then I have taught at the best festivals in Europe and across the globe, including Japan, Taiwan and Canada.
At the same time, I feel very linked to the dance community of Barcelona and its surroundings, as well as some of the communities in the rest of Spain that I have had the pleasure of meeting.

In the last three years I have choreographed my performances, also music videos and performances by circus artists.
Although I have mixed impressions on the Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz competitions, in the last few years I have competed and been to multiple finals, getting around 20 awards. They stand out, for example:
The results in the competitions do not always measure the talent of a dancer, but in my case, the fact of preparing them has pushed me to work intensely, train hard, continue learning and innovate.
Is it contradictory? On the one hand I love being with my family and my friends, I need to have them very close. In fact, it is my favorite activity in my free time. Along with dance and sports, it is what makes me disconnect from difficulties and flow. Laughing, talking about each other's things and philosophising about life, suits me very well. On the other hand, I will hardly explain things to everyone out loud or stand out among people I know little.
I let important decisions slowly stew in my mind and ask my friends and family for their opinions.
I am very methodical and organized for my work because I love it, but quite a disaster in the order of physical things.
I have achieved the dream that I never thought was possible: dedicate myself 100% to dance. I left my comfort zone with a stable salary as a teacher, in a perfect school, to embark on the adventure of being a swing teacher with all the uncertainty ahead. I left my partner and my apartment. And later I changed city.
The emotional support of my parents and my brother were decisive in making the decision and taking this step. Knowing my passion and ability for dance, I had a separate conversation with each of them, raising my intention to change my life. And one by one they told me yes, it was time and to do it. The emotion that I felt at that moment still lingers.
I have taken Roser's classes through Zoom and found them to be great. I love them! I feel that she is a very good teacher, very didactic. You can see that he plans his classes very well and perfectly controls the time that the students need to assimilate the learning. The number of repetitions of the exercises is very precise. I really appreciate this opportunity to be able to access your teaching from a distance through Zoom.

I have done all of your Zoom Followers courses. I love classes and have always found them very useful. Roser teaches concepts that are not normally received in regular pair classes. I have greatly improved the musicality and the control of my movements. Before I just got carried away but was not aware of the movements as I am now. Also, the variations he shares are great! I really appreciate the dedication you put into your classes! They are always top! 🤩 I'm always looking forward to next Thursday to take a new class.
María Gómez, Valencia (Spain).
